-----2---------------------------------------------
-----3---------------------------------------------
-----3---------------------------------------------
-----1---------------------------------------------

You barre the first fret with your index, middle on third string second fret, ring on fourth string third fret , and pinky on the fifth string third fret.

It's called a barred F chord.

If possable, could you make your pic alittle smaller? It takes up alot of room.

Thanks

I've tried using my thumb over the top of the neck for that chord before. Though, it was uncomfortable.

Why would you try to use your thumb?? I have small hands and am pretty much incapable of using my thumb ever but I don't see the need, it is a straight forward barre chord.

ATHF - if you were asking how to strum only 5 strings, it just takes practice. Some chords strum only the middle 4 strings or maybe 3 strings. Other chords will require you to deaden a string, for example this Cm7:

--3----
--4--
--3--
--x--
--3--
-----

You would use your pointer finger on your fretting hand, which would be holding down the C on the fifth string, to deaden the 4th string.

It's not easy being green.... good thing I'm purple.

I have fairly large hands, so it wasn't that big of an issue. And I was just experimenting on my accoustic with moveable barre shapes, anyway. :)
