I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but....
Start slowly. If you can do it verrrrrrrrrry slowly, and not make any mistakes, thats the best way to go. Then once you are comfortable with that, speed it up a bit. When you make mistakes, your muscle memory can kick in, and you'll have to unlearn playing it like that. So the best bet is to play it correctly slowly.
Repitition is the key to learning anything, especially riffs.

"start slowly" is great advice...and work up to the speed of the record you're trying to emulate...then, try and play along with the CD....
