just replaced my old steel strings on my acustic with copper plated ones .
Question - Why do copper plated ones sound more tinny
( best way to describe the sound )
Thanks in advance

copper plated ones yes "cyranodb"
Typing out what is written on the cover of my new string pack
"DR"
The handmade string
made in USA
"RARE" Phosphor -Bronze
RPL -10 10 14 22 30 38 48 lite
Then on the 4 Bass strings (G D A E ) The thick ones it says Copper plated
where as the the 2 high strings ( E B ) They are just plain steel ..
Anyone else use these ?

They give you two E strings? That's very cool.
I have used those in the past (before I moved from Chicago) and I liked them. I'm always trying different strings, though.
Peace
have I said it wrong ?
top string on guitar E ? Thick one
Bottom string on guitar E ? THE LITTLE SKINNY ONE
I was taught that working your way up the strings from bottom to top it went like this .
E-----EVERY
B-----BOY
G-----GETS
D-----DOLLY
A-----ANDERSON
E-----EVERY DAY

No, you didn't post it wrong. When you wrote "10" twice, I assumed that meant you got two high E strings (the thinnest one).
Not to worry! But it would be a smart move for a string company to make...
Peace
Ohhh OK David
There is no gap on the packet between the two 10's

Copper strings are the norm in Gypsy style jazz, they have a certain lack of sustain and crunchiness to the sound that is part of the style.
Didn't think they had much of a following outside that world. In fact, I've had to special order my strings from a company in Europe 'cause I can't find them locally.
