Neither is better than the other.
It all depends on what you want to play. They each have there own place.
well... nylon is better for softer stuff and has a differnt sound.. cant use a pick on nylon. although if you have the reach nylon is easier to play, since
steel accoustic strings are well, steel, thus being harder to push. classical guitars have wider spaced strings, thus wider necks. necks are also shorter on classical guitars. classicals have less frets and are quieter.
Stealing's better if you don't feel like paying...

Steel on accoustic guitars sounds so cool
Nylon is for folk or classical - and you can use a pick on nylon if you're playing Bossa Nova.
