hi
after getting a guitar chords songbook for a present i came across
Leonard Cohen`s Suzanne i thought i would have a go
finger picking this lovely song. yes you guessed i cant figure out the
picking pattern, please can anyone point me in the right direction.
many thanks
bry
trying to learn the guitar with my 50 birthday just around the corner SH*T it`s come and gone
It's based on this pattern:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----0--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------0---
-----------------------------------------------1--------------2---------------1------------------ETC.
---------2------------2----------------2--------------2---------------2------------2---------
---------------2-------------------------------2------------------------------2---------------
----0--------------------------0------------------------------0----------------------------0
Basically the lines represent the strings, the numbers represent the frets. The most basic picking would be to assign the 3 bass strings to the thumb, the index finger does the G, middle finger the B and ring finger the hi E.
does anyone have the complete tab to this song? i'm learnning the vocals to this and i'd like to play it, too.
A little thought just occured to me while out walking the dog. If you look at it as a whole you can see that mostly its an Em chord and an Em sus and an E. You don't have to keep moving your fretting fingers for every note. Anchor those 2 fingers on the A & D strings.
Have a safe and pleasant day.
