Actually, Noteboat's timing article with exercises was excellent as well.
When I finally got the hang of D(U)DU D(U)D(U) DUDU D(U)D(U)
I though it sounded so amazing. It would sound even more amazing if I could change chords and maintain that rythm.
And by the time I could play that, syncopation was easy (well that one exercise). Again, provided I don't try and change chords, heaven forbid!
I actually have that printed out but I haven't read it yet...
I was trying to use the metronome this evening and it took some time to be able to get it on the beeps. I had to lower it down to 50 just to get started...and I was only using the D D DU DU strumming pattern..
Mike, the best way to get in time with the metronome is to just repeat DUDUDU or D_D_D_D_D... until you are on the click then start missing strums. This way you are not trying to remember when to hit and when to miss while concentrating on the clicks
