What is a capro, and how is it used?

I think you mean "capo". A capo is used to change the pitch of the open strings.

Here's a good article about them.

And, here's one from Shubb Capos.

Hope that helps!

I play with capoes quite a bit. It allows you to play the same chords you would in Open E, but depending on which fret you place the capo, it "transposes" to a different key.

This is a good article and also has a "transposition" chart to help explain what I said above!!!

One of the nice things we can do with a capo is play a song with the chords we know, and change the pitch to our match our vocal range.
