Been a while since I saw a new song on the list.........
How about Pretty Woman?...I do know this one is in the works.
How about American Pie? Has the basic chords, sounds nice. A good exercise in strumming patterns.
If it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing.
Hi JosephLefty,
American Pie is already on this forum. I posted it, see page 5.
Best regards,
Chris
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)

Looking for people to jam with in Sydney Oz.......
Any ideas on a strumming pattern for this one....?
(OLd man would be proud of me if I played this to him as he was his hero)
LOL I was playing this one yesterday :)
The strumming pattern Roy used was actually kind of complicated. If you're not trying to truly duplicate the pattern, I'd use something like this:
D DU D D D DU D D
1 &a 2 & 3 &a 4 &
When he gets to the E chord ('I don't believe you'), the strumming slows down -
B DU B DU
1 2& 3 4&
with 'B' being a bass note (or two strings - he wasn't completely consistent, but it's not full chords)

I play this with a D Du uD strum. Eighth notes being a bit easier than 16th. (Think I will try the 16th though)
I also play it with an E7 instead of the E. Makes it sound more 'sorrowful' which is what I believe the flavor of the song should be.
Great song ... Even one I can sing along with while I play.
