I just feel the need to share so here is another I found really easy to learn. Its a Beatles cover of an old R & B classic. Just listen to it either on `Please Please Me' or the `Live At The BBC' albums to get the hang of it. I can't add the lead guitar fills as I'm not that advanced yet.
Intro:
G-----------------Em
Sha la la la la la la (repeat 3 times)
C------------------------
I's not the way you smile
-----------------G---
that touched my heart.
C------------------------
It's not the way you kiss
-----------G----
that tears apart.
---------Em------------------------
But how many many many nights go by
Am---------------------------------G--------------Em
I sit alone at home and i cry over you. What can I do?
C------------D--------------------G----Em--------G--
Can't help myself cause baby it's you. Baby it's you.
C-----------------------------------G------------------
You should hear what they say about you cheat cheat
C-------------------------------------------G--
They say they say you never never ever been true
------Em-----------------------------
Wo ho it doesn't matter what they say
Am-----------------------------------
I know I'm gonna love you any old way
-----------G------------Em--
What can I do then it's true.
C-----------------D-----
Don't want nobody nobody
----------------G-----Em--------G--
Cause baby it's you. Baby it's you.
Have fun with it!
Love & peace
Chris
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)

I always loved this song. There was another group in the 60's who had even more success with this song than the Beatles, but I can't recall who it was. Beautiful melody.
Thanks.

Glad you like it Wes,
It may have been the Shirelles a girl vocal group who made the hit out of it.
I have to correct a mistake I've made, it appeared on the `Please Please Me' album not ` With The Beatles' sorry about that.
I love the song because it must contain one of the best of John Lennon's vocals.
Cheers
Chris

The Shirelles had a hit with Baby It's You in 1962.
But there was a band named Smith who recorded it in 69.
As I remember it also was a good version. Don't know the the name of the female singer though.
Welcome to GuitarNoise Timbit
Yes the version I was refering to was much later than '62. But 1969 sounds just about right. I didn't realize it was a female singer though.
It is a beautiful song.
Thanks

Late 1960s rock group led by Gayle McCormick. Best known songs include the impassioned remake of the Shirelles "Baby It's You" (1969).

The Smiths apparently strum it differently. More of a bass-y type and less strums. I'm curious to hear the Beatles' version to try to play along with it. Nice work. :-)
