Bus Stop - The Hollies.

Another sixties classic pop song, this one was written by Graham Gouldman - he also wrote "Heart Full of Soul" which was a hit for the Yardbirds, before going on to be 1/4 of 10cc in the 70's - great band anyone remember them?

Anyway, songs don't get much easier than the verse of this.....

Intro

E-8-7-5---5-5
B--------8-----8

(repeat)

OK, here's verse one - chords used, Am, and, er, that's it....

(Am)Bus stop, wet day, she's there,I say,
Please share my umbrella,
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows,
Under my umbrella

OK, as you come to the last syllable of "umbrella", theres a quick change...from Am, to G to C, just one quick strum of each...

(Am/G/C)All that (G)summer (Am)we enjoyed it, (Dm)wind and rain and (Em)shine,
(Am)that um(G)brella, (Am)we em(G)ployed it, by (Am)August, (G)she was (Am)mine.

(C)Every morning (B7)I would see her (Em)waiting (D)at the (C)stop,
Sometimes she'd (Am)shopped and she would (B7)show me what she Em)bought,
(Em/D/C)Other people (B7)stared as if we (Em)were both (D)quite in(C)sane,
Someday my (Am)name and hers are (B7)going to be the (Em) same.

Right - slap that Am back on again for the second verse....

(Am)That's the way the whole thing thing started,
Silly but it's true,
Thinking of a sweet romance,
Beginning in a queue,

(G/C)Come the (G)sun the (Am)ice was melting,
(Dm)No more sheltering (Em)now,
(Am)Nice to think that, that umbrella,
Led me to a vow.

Instrumental break here, then...

repeat the chorus, repeat the first verse....

fade out on guitar instrumental.....

IF - and it's a big if - I get time later, I'll try and tab the solo...doesn't sound too hard, played on acoustic...

Anyway, for now, enjoy....(Specially YOU, Rodders!)

Sorry Vic , didn't see you'd posted this and I put another version on at 2200 hours.

Didn't mean to steal your thunder mate. Please forgive me. Still Rodders has now got two versions for the price of one and an intro too.

Bloody hell he's a slave driver.

Slavedriver's about right...when he mentioned it in passing, I thought "Hmm, haven't heard that for a while!" - so I dug out one of many sixties compilations, worked it out and posted it....looks like you did the same!!!

Rodders is hereby banned from mentioning any other song except the one he's tabbing....
