This is a great old song from the mid sixties by a very popular group in the USA (not so much over here) The singer gave this song a very Cajun like feel to it.
Some interesting facts about the band and the song can be found here. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=4209
As for strumming you might find this midi file helpful

Now here is the song.
It should be played in A# so put a capo on the first fret or barre it on the 6th. If you are taking the barre option play the D# on the 11th and the E# on the 13th (oooh that'll hurt)

The solo isnt the same as its a live version and a bit more involved but a good performance all the same.

Thanks Rod,
Now I remember it. Funny how sometimes you don't recognise the song title at all, then you hear the first few bars and then its. "Damn I know that song!"
Great song! Now I can get to playing it.
Cheers,
Chris
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
Just to give credit where it's due.
The canned heat version is a cover of Henry Thomas' 1928 "Bull Doze Blues"
