My progress with the guitar has been quite slow, as I do not have the....scratch that - I do not make the time to practise for a good period every day.
I've found myself gravitating towards a small handful of songs that use the same set of chords. I am curious to know if these chords I am using are cheat chords or are actually perfectly acceptable.
Basically, they all revolve around anchoring your ring and pinky finger on the third frets of the 1st and 2nd string, and leaving them there while you move your index and middle finger around the other strings.
The songs that I can play using this method are:
Oasis - Wonderwall
Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
Boxcar Racer - Letters To God
Blink 182 - What Went Wrong
Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Green Day - Time Of Your Life
And there are probably a few dozen more that can be played in this manner. I suspect that they may not be the proper way to play them, but they are quite an easy way to quickly get some pleasing tunes out of the guitar.
Check this site out. Some one on here gave it to me.
I can look back with a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent.
