Hello. My first post here.
So there was this great song by the band Poison, "Every Rose has its Thorn." It's just beautiful, and mostly acoustic as well. I've tried to play it on my acoustic; I know that the chords are very simple, Mainly G and Cadd9 with a couple of C and D chords in the chorus.
I tried to get the strumming pattern right by listening to the intro over and over again, but it just doesn't sound right. Does anyone know how to play it?

Try tuning your guitar down a half a step and I bet it will sound a lot more like it.

Here's the Bridge and Second Solo chord progression just before the third and final verse.

BRIDGE:

Em D C G
THOUGH IT'S BEEN A WHILE NOW, I CAN STILL FEEL SO MUCH PAIN
Em D C
LIKE A KNIFE THAT CUTS YOU THE WOUND HEALS
G > solo begins here
BUT THE SCAR, THAT SCAR RE-MAINS

SOLO 2: | G | C+9 | G | C+9 | Em D | C G | Em D | C G | rest |

| C+9''' | G''' | C+9''' |

E doesn't = MC2, E = Fb

Music "Theory"? "It's not just a theory, it's the way it is!"

I might get beat with a stupid stick, but I've been working on this song for a little while using the strum pattern listed here but I'm wondering are you playing a chord change at the "/" I know that the patterns are that one is for the verse and the other is for the chorus.

I hope I've made my confusion understandable.
