Five Dollar Fine-Chris Ledoux
CHORUS
We got a (C)five dollar fine for (F)whinin',
We'll (G)tell you before you come (C)in.
And if it (C)ain't on your mind to (F)have a good (Am)time,
Ya'll (C)come back and (G)see us a(C)gain.
We're a (C)fun lovin' crowd, kinda (F)rowdy and loud,
Our (C)jukebox won't play no sad (G)songs,
So (C)don't come in here and (F)cry in your beer,
Cause we (C)don't care about (G)who done who (C)wrong.
CHORUS
We got a (C)five dollar fine for (F)whinin',
We'll (G)tell you before you come (C)in.
And if it (C)ain't on your mind to (F)have a good (Am)time,
Ya'll (C)come back and see us a(C)gain.
Well, we (C)don't really care about your (F)clothes or your hair,
This (C)party's open to (G)all.
Yah we (C)like a good joke and it's (F)alright to smoke,
We (C)got just one (G)rule on the (C)wall.
CHORUS
Now there's (C)too many fools makin' (F)too many rules,
That's (C)one thing you can't say about (G)us.
Cause we (C)all get along when we (F)sing the same song
There's just (C)one thing that (G)causes a (C)fuss.
CHORUS x 2
We've got a (C)five dollar fine for (F)whinin'
Nice way to work on some difficult changes. Strumming is D DUD
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"
Never even heard of this guy, so I looked him up; Chris LeDoux. Interesting, to say the least!

I've never heard of him, either. Reading the lyrics, it came out as definitely a country song. Seeing the chords, confirmed it.
Now I'll just have to listen to the song and see if I've made a fool of myself (again).
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
Having worked at a country radio station in the early '90s I heard LeDoux's music quite a bit. It didn't occur to me that he wouldn't have been known overseas.
He was a good writer, and performer. I'm glad to see this posted.
Thanks TwistedFingers
and feel free to post any more you have figured out.
Oh, Greybeard, have a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffr-G6abbxA

I'll get some more posted up in the next couple of weeks. Love Chris. Currently working on Working Man's Dollar.
Yeah, I totally forgot our friends across the pond have been denied access to decent country music. :D

This is true - there's very little country music played on mainstream radio in the UK, and crossover hits have tended to be of the "watered down" variety - like No Charge, by JJ Barrie, or Mississippi, by Pussycat. Occasionally an oldie - Crazy, by Patsy Kline, or Stand By Your Man, by Tammy Wynette will hit the charts, although it's been a while since that happened.
I think the most popular - in terms of chart hits and radio play, anyway - "country" performers over here would have been Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton. People like Garth Brooks and Jimmy Buffet (would you even class his music as Country?) have never even had a sniff of a hit, and I don't think I've EVER heard a track by either of them on the Radio.
Then again, I don't listen to much radio these days - either an oldies station or a classic rock station, so what would I know!

You're going to hate me for this, but is everyone forgetting that monster country hit Achey Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus?
I know you might want to forget it, but that's something else................

Meant you were correct in both your assessments. Kind of a baseball reference would mean the player had 2 hits in 2 times at bat, in your case two correct answers.
And for mentioning Achy Breaky Heart I think a 30 day suspension is in order.
