This remained one of John's favorite Beatles songs, "Because it was real." Reportedly, his only regret was they didn't play it in the slow "Dylanesque" manner that he originally envisioned.
Although this is a combination of several tabs on the internet, in this version I made some slight modifications, replacing some of the chords with the signature fills and redid the descant in an attempt to match the recording for those who have friends that want to sing along. A very rewarding song to play.

"Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak."
Absolutely brilliant job shug.
I have just run through it and it sounds great. All my family know that this is to be my "parting this life song". I have always loved this and is by far one of, if not the best Beatles song ever written. It just goes to show how talented these four guys were that they could turn a cry for help into a number one record.
I have checked out so many tabs of this before and never really been able to get to grips with them, but you have arranged this terrifically for one guitar.
My thanks go out to you.
Rod.
Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

Wow! Thanks Rod. High praise from someone whose own contributions I respect and enjoy! I can just imagine you and Dogsbody performing this (and singing both parts) at the next family gathering!!! Wish I could be there!!

Thanks Chris (and Dan) . . . no, haven't visited the "Beatles Memories" site before this . . . but I have now and made a "deposit". So many memories I didn't know where to start, but I think you may appreciate the one I posted, Chris. It's a little unusual. Thanks for the "heads up", enjoyed reading the memories of others.

Full Disclosure/Disclaimer: Just received this month's copy of a well-known guitar magazine. Lo and behold one of the transcriptions was "Help!" Looks very similar to my post above except it uses an E7 rather than an E chord in the Intro. Also, in the verses it uses an Asus2 before switching to A. ie: But now (Asus2) these (A )days are are gone I'm (C#m) not so self assured . . . etc.

Wow. Thanks for posting the link Rodders. That is priceless. They were so young and innocent looking. It's actually a bit erie seeing John and George.
Anyhow, here's the same, live at Shea Stadium in 1965:

Thanks for the links Rodders and SteveS. They are terrific!! I must admit I get a little discouraged when I look at my short stubby fingers and then I see George's long slender fingers moving elegantly and effortlessly forming bar chords in the first video!
