Great little song this one from the pen of John
Here is the introE:--------------------0----4------------------
B:--------------------2----4------------------
G:--------------------2----5------------------
D:--------------------2----4------------------

I'm so tired etc. etc.
Now you need a kind of laboured strum for this one to give the feel of being tired I use a dduud strum cutting the first up strum off very quickly.
The rest of the song follows this pattern G#7 D E7
I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink,
A F#m D E7
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink.
A Amaj7 F#m Dm
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink, no, no, no
A G#7 D E7
I'm so tired, I don't know what to do,
A F#m D E7
I'm so tired, my mind is set on you.
A Amaj7 F#m Dm
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do
You then get in to a sort of blues shuffle for the chorus
and that goes something like this
A shuffle part goes
Strum as indicated

Very nicely explained & presented Rodders, thanks! 8)

I'm gonna give this a go tonight after work. Nice explanation and easy to follow.
Very nice. Seen a number of charts using Eaug instead of Amaj7 on the third line (same notes of Amaj7 except no A) but this works just as well. I think it's all a voicing choice since people find it easy to go from x07650 for A to 0765xx for Eaug.
Haven't played this in years and now I want to again! That's the point, no? Thanks!
Peace

Thanks David. That's the point, yes!
I use Amaj7 purely for ease as I'm using an open A and its a piece of cake to change to from there. If I was barring the A on the 5th I would probably go the Eaug route.
I have never really tried the A you have shown here but I think I shall give it a go and see how I get on.

Finally got round to trying this out - nice job, Rod.
Might be interesting to work this into a medley with, for instance, Goodnight (off the White Album) and I'm Only Sleeping - just a thought!
