Here is a fairly easy strum song that can be played with all open chords.

Chords used in this song:

Em D C G F A Am B7

e--0---2---0---3---1---0---0---2----

Wes,

This is really great, I can't wait to give it a try. Ummm, there would't happen to be a sound clip following up after this? (Hey it never hurts to ask, :D )

Thanks!

No sound clips, but if you know the song. :D

Actually, I have to apologize to Dogsbody, he posted this song some time ago. I should have checked FIRST. Later, it occured to me that this song may have been posted before and I performed a search. And there it was. So here is Dogsbody's version as well. I am pretty sure they are almost identical.

Another thing one can do is add the little Mellotron (string sampler if you will) line that permeates the beginning. It's easy since it happens "D" part of the Em and D lines. While holding on to the D chord, you'll want to pick these notes (adding your pinky to the E string or opening it up as the need occurs):

E - - - 0 - 2 - 3 - 2 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
B - 3 - - - - - - - - - - 3 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
G - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
D - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
E - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This happens during the "four, five, six" count of D before going back to Em. You can also do it in the measure from D to C between the first two lines of the verses.

Peace

I like it, and David's suggestion adds something new to it.
My instructor likes to say that if you do something that's relatively simple, but do it really well, people will think you're doing something more complex. This could qualify. 8)
It was also the first song that I won a karaoke contest with. It's kinda scary how long ago that seems now.
Thanks for posting this, Wes, and for your contribution too, David.

No need for apologies Wes this is getting to be a very big database. I did record myself playing it to give everyone an idea of the strum pattern. so here's the link again.
