Ok, this time I would like to post a simplified version of â€Californication†which was an huge hit for Red Hot Chili peppers a few years ago. Ok, having said that I took of the chords from the e-chords site ( http://www.e-chords.com ) let's move on.
Chords: the only tricky one is the F chord, the other ones are plain easy (Am, Dm, G, C).
Suggestion: I play the G chord with barre (on the 3rd fret) because this way it is easier to switch from G to F.

Chord changes and time signature:
The song is in 4/4, so you have to count from one to four to complete a measure, if teh chord changes half measure this means that you play the chord for 2 beats
Intro: change every measure between Am and F
Verse: change every measure between Am and F, end the verse with C, G, F, Dm changing them every two beats
Chorus: C (2 beats), G (2 beats), F (4 beats), C (2 beats), G (2 beats), Dm (4 beats)
Strummin: I play the intro part with a D/du/u/du pattern, while the verse and the chorus is faster. I tried the following patterns which seem to work well (I divide each beat with a slash, b means bass note)
Bb/ddu/bb/ddu
Bb/ddu/dub/ddu
Bb/D U*/ud/ddu
* = dotted eight-note
A very simple pattern which still works well is DU/D/Du/D
