Notes:
This song can be played either strumming the 3 chords in the song: Am, F, and C, or you can spice it up a little to sound like the original by using riff #1 during the verses, and the little fill riff #2 where noted.
To play riff #1, play an Am chord: 5th string open, 4th string 2nd fret middle finger, 3rd string 2nd fret ring finger, 2nd string 1st fret index finger, 1st string open. Then add your pinky finger to the 2nd string 3rd fret & strum, lift your pinky back off & up strum the first 3 strings, add the pinky again & strum just the first 3 strings again, then lift the pinky off again & play the whole Am chord. Up strum the first 3 strings open, then play an Am chord again. Now play a partial F chord by placing your ring finger on the 4th string 3rd fret, middle finger 3rd string 2nd fret, and 2nd string open. Then strum the first 3 strings open, play an F chord, first 3 strings open twice, and end on the Fmaj7 chord. When playing this riff during the chorus, I play the Am part the same, but just strum the F chord part.
To play riff #2, fret an Am chord, (see above), but also grab the 1st string 1st fret with your index finger by barring the 1st 2 strings. Then play the first 3 strings open, Am chord, add pinky to 2nd string 3rd fret, Am chord again, open strings again, and end on Am chord.
