This is a fairly easy song, especially if one simplifies the riffs as I have done here. It is made up of three different parts. There's the main riff for the intro and the verses, a bit of strumming in the chorus and then a break and another riff.

The song starts with the riff played four times before the singing begins. I have noted the chords above the tab in case you have a second guitar player in the vicinity or you find it difficult to sing while playing the riff.

When I play the chords in the verses I use bar chords to be able to mute the strings by just holding my right hand lightly on the fretboard during the parts where I indicated the E-chord in brackets. I still keep on strumming during those parts as it gives a nice percussive sound and helps me to keep the rhythm going.

The chords:
E: 77999(7)
A: 577655
D: 55777(5)
B: 799877
the brackets here on the E and D are just to show that I sometimes, or to be honest, most of the time mute that high e-string as I form the A-shaped bar-chords using my index finger to bar on the 7th fret and then my middle finger to form a mini bar on the ninth fret ( for the E-chord that is)

The main riff:

(E) E A (E) D A
---------------|--------------------
---------------|--------------------
-----------1-2-|--------------------
---0h2-2-2-2-2—|-0h2-2-2-0----------
---------------|----------4-2-0-----
---------------|--------------------

After playing the riff 4 times as an intro it is played once for every line in the verse and then once between the lines.

Verse 1:

(E) E A (E) D A
Every morning when I wake, a feeling soon begins to overtake me.

(E) E A (E) D A

(E) E A (E) D A
Ringing in my ears resounds through my brain; it finally surrounds me.

(E) E A (E) D A

(E) E A (E) D A
There is fire, there is life, there is passion, fever and fury.

(E) E A (E) D A

(E) E A (E) D A
There is love and there is hate, there is longing, anger and worry.

(E) E A (E) D A

Next is the chorus part and if you have been playing that riff until now it's finally time for some strumming at last. But not that much really, only one stroke for each chord and let that B and A chord ring.

E E B D D A
-7--7--7------|-5--5--5------
-9--9--7------|-7--7--5------
-9--9--8------|-7--7--6------
-9--9--9-----—|-7--7--7------
-7--9--9------|-5--5--7------
-7--7--7------|-5--5--5------

Chorus E E B D D A E E B D D A
Oh, I am a flame; feel it touch my heart.
E E B D D A D D A
And down at my core is the hottest part.
D D A E E B
I can run without fear.

Now a short break and the second riff (twice):

(NC) B A Ab A B A Ab E
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
------------4-2-1--2---------------4-2-1-------- X2
------2-----4-2-1--2---------2-----4-2-1--2-----
--2h4---4p2--------------2h4---4p2--------2-----
-------------------------------------------------

and then the it's from the top again in the same fashion for verses two and three.

2. If it should become too cold, I know I can endure the frostbite.
Oh, a blanket then I'll wrap around me; I keep myself so close to my sight.
No one then can cause me harm, just as the river runs into the sea.
'cause every day, a fire alarm is deafening the silence all around me.

3. You can trust me; we can laugh. Together we can share our sorrow.
I will give you secrets too, an attitude that you may borrow.
Gypsy woman said to me, one thing you must bear in your mind:
You are young and you are free, but damned if you're deceased in your own lifetime.

There is a solo between verses 2 and 3 and then again after verse 3 until fade and if you want to play it as on the record you'll be playing for a long time, if I remember correctly the song is more than 8 minutes long…

All the best
