Right all here's today's offering from top Brit Mods the Jam. Originally this was played with Barre chords, but recently Weller has been playing this just as tabbed, without a capo. I capo it at the third fret as i think this puts it in the original key, but hey! mess around and see what you think.

The signature sound / riff is a very fast DUD strum on the first beat of the G. If you know the record you'll know what i mean, its a real dug - ga - dug sort of sound that repeats every time there is a verse. He also does some hammering on the second fret of the A string sometimes to add a bit of variety.

You'll find you can play this in a number of ways, quite attacking with downstrokes, or you can palm mute on beats 1 and 3. I have played it in a number of ways. Hardest part is learning all the words ha ha. However you play it, you want to try and very the volume at key moments. Like the "slashed seat affairs" bit, really attack them strings!

This is a good one for beginners, nice easy chords....here we go, 1, 2, 3, 4......
