Band in a box is a fantastic program for guitarists. They just came out with a 32 bit version.

It sounds good if you have a software midi synth. Without one it just sound like music from an old computer game.

That is absolutely true. Well to a point. IF you have a decent midi setup it's very good. IF you a very good soundcard, it's very, very good. IF you have the soundcard that you moved from PC to PC since 1989, don't bother.
The new version comes with the Roland VSC dxi.

Do you have to be playing via MIDI for this to work? Suppose it works for keyboards as well then?
