I know I saw some people with penguins under their user name.  Does anyone want to recommend music or guitar programs for linux that they've had some success with along with a link to where they got it?  Tuners, metronomes, etc.

With a few replies, I think this thread can be pretty useful to linux users.

I can recommend a TEX application for making guitar tab, it's pretty popular, so you probably know it already.  Anyway, its called GuitarTex and can be found at:

http://guitartex.sourceforge.com

Cheers,
James

I use Audacity on Windows, but it's also available for Linux.

The best resource for linux music software and info in general is http://linux-sound.org/

Guitar specific stuff is at http://linux-sound.org/guitar.html

99.9% of the software listed on these pages is Open Source (i. e. free as in freedom) or freeware ( free as in beer ).
