theres a kind of open-mic contest going on @ http://www.wikiloops.com
you choose a BT supplied by someone else and add your instrument to it. A free thing worth a checkout, not quite developed yet on the metal and rock side, but with quite kewl stuff in the reggae, blues and unplugged corners.

:note2: :note1: :note2:

all are welcome to join, its a musician-run non-com project aiming to put an end to headless guitarists on youtube ;-)

ok - not bad. I went for the first reggae track I found - yeah, I love the stuff; especially the hardcore "politicised" reggae.

The keys sounded very synth'd but the overall effect sounded quite decent. Do you know how much of it was done with live musicians playing their instruments?

I dont know which one you went for (please give Session ID), but as far as I know all musicians on there are real, most sitting in germany like me. Thing is, if you find a session you like, you may still remove musicians from the track and post alternative remixes, so there may be many ends to one backing.
