Soooo, another new pedal enters the house. It's the Behringer OD100, an overdrive/distortion pedal with the usual level, tone and drive knobs plus a 'mode' knob which lets you mix the OD and DS together. Haven't heared it in my setup yet but I'll post some clips in a little while. Anyone had any experiences with this pedal? HC has a bunch of positive reviews but they often seem to come from pretty clueless people so I'm not sure what to believe of that. Ah well, will hear it in a minute. ;)

Great. It is so fun to add new pedals to the mix just for kix and giggles. I am still exploring my new distortion pedals I got several weeks ago. Of course no one seems interested in my opinions. I guess if I posted sound clips, somebody might actually post a response.

97reb: Hehe, I saw your post about it. Didn't respond because I haven't heared or seen the pedal so yeah, do make a recording of it. :D

As for the Behringer OD100, have been using it the past two days and I like it a lot. It seems a bit sturdier then my other Behringer pedals but I am not sure if that is because this line is better or because it's just totally random with Behringer's hopeless QA.

The mode knob is kinda interesting, as I don't really think there are two seperate circuits inside. I'm not sure exactly what this knob does but it seems to be some kind of mid-cut. Works very well but it is kinda misleading to pretent it are two totally different sounds.

Two soundclips: first with the gain mode halfway.

Second one with gain max, mode at 100% OD. This time also the EQ700, TO100 and CS300 were used.

Both were played through the Epi VJH, through the weber, into the Boss GX700 (reverb, delay, pitchshift, EQ) to the GMX212 2x12" combo, micced and send to the mixer. Due to my hopeless mic'ing-skills some highs have been lost.

I really like the tone you're getting in clip 1 Arjen, not that I don't like clip 2, but my tastes prefer clip 1 more. Sounds like a really good pedal, and nice addition to your board. Really nice playing there too guy! 8)

For that particular song, clip 1's tone is better IMO. Clip 2's tone might be good for some NWOBHM, possibly first two Iron Maiden albums.

Thanks for the comments. I agree that the first clip sounds best, the 2nd is a bit too mid-heavy and lacking in the treble department, but it is great fun playing it at that setting. :D

Thats some mighty tasty tone! Not to mention some tasty licks :D The EVH is the best thing since peanut butter It really make any good effects pedal shine. I also like the first clip better better

Hmmm...... I'll have to try hooking my EVH up to my GMX12 speakers

Have to say I love the first recording. The second has its moments from 1:30 onward, but it's not as good. :D

Very nice stuff. However I think this is more of a case of the player making a good sound out of a guitar than the new pedal.
