wah cuts out at high freq during leads

HI, does anyone know what might be causing my wah ( i've plugged in my vox wah and ibanez weeping demon and both have same issue) to cut out when i play a busy lead break especially when i play high notes .. would it be a power issue or patch leads? never had this before and frustrating the shit outa me.cheers
