Never seen all the common chord progressions of different types of music listed in one place. Thought it's time for that....I'll list a few types and you add the common chord progressions. Feel free to add other music styles not listed.

Metal
Rock
Country
Jazz
Blues
Stoner Rock
Surfer Rock
Goth
Industrial

None of these styles would be definable by the chord progressions they use.

All might use the I-IV-V progression or the ii-V-I progression, for example.

Blues is mostly I-I-I-I-IV-IV-I-I-V-IV-I-I (12 bar blues)

Goth and Metal will use minor keys more than the other styles, often with a b2 (phrygian) for even more doom and gloom.

But chord progressions do not a musical style make. You'll have to look for the style's defining characteristics elsewhere.
