Im still confused with the connectors symbols; what are excatly the slurs and/or the ties, and how should I play when I see them?
Thanks a lot!

A slur is a curved line that connects two notes of different pitch. It means those notes have to be played 'legato', i.e., smoothly connected. The most common way to achieve it on guitar is by hammer on and pull off

A tie is a curved line between two notes of the same pitch. It indicates that only the first note is played, but its duration is to be extended by that of the second note.
For example, take two quarter notes (Q)
Q (tied to) Q = A half note. Ties are commonly seen crossing a bar line - joining the last note of a measure to the first note of the next measure.
