Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping to get some feedback for a song I just finished. There are a couple of bumps in the performance but it was my first take and I decided it was good enough for a rough cut.

The Ties That Bind
V1
I know you did your best
To help her find her way
But life is more than just a test
That You pass then walk away

V2
You never let her feel her pain
She never learned to lose
You bailed her out and propped her up
And every thing was new

Chorus
How do the ties that bind
Become the chains of time
Can we grow thru all of their days
Embrace the dreams they will chase
Can we love them in every way
And keep the ties that bind

V3
You stole from her the chance to grow
The path to find Her grace
You gave away heart and soul
Just to save her face

Chorus
How do the ties that bind
Become the chains of time
Can we grow thru all of their days
Embrace the dreams they will chase
Can we love them in every way
That keep the ties that bind

Bridge
We are the children of our fathers fears
We are the children of our mothers tears
Can we free the hearts that we raise
To sing their own song of praise
Oh great redeemer set us free

Any and all feedback is very welcome and appreciated!!

Pretty good for a rough demo, Greg!

I'd like to hear this done with other instruments added....it's crying out for a nice descending bass-line, and possibly a fairly clean electric guitar solo, but maybe that's jumping too far ahead.

Oh and yeah, I think "You Know" is pretty good as well......

:D :D :D

Hi Vic,

Thanks for the feedback and I agree with your comment on the bass line. I had the chance to jam on it with friends this past weekend and it really helped fill it in. Given my situation it looks like it would do me some good to acquire some DAW skills so I could track some of these myself.

Also thanks for listening to and commenting on "You Know." Since posting that recording I've been experimenting with different ways of structuring it and hope to have something more definitive soon.
