I was wondering how the ads on the front page are chosen. Is it just a cycle of ads or is it based on cookies or some other method? The reason I ask is that I saw an ad which at best I can describe as "interesting" (e.g. gfizz.com).
I guess what I'm trying to say is that when I think of guitarnoise, gfizz.com doesn't jump into my head.

its based on the topic of what is mostly reffered to in a page.. its how google spiders get lists, by searching for the most common words... most matches, closer to the top of the search list.
it basically gets a general gist of whats going on by whats been typed / written, sends out its spiders, returns results that match the same topic, and display them (because it thinks its relavent to the page you are viewing)
so this applies to all the ads, even the banner ad at the very top of the page?
