i recently bought a USA Fat Strat with 2 tex mex and a diamondback humbucker there is a difference between it and the squier i have, i am playing through a Line 6 Spider 2 112 i was expecting a bigger dif. i want to know what i should buy to get more of a stevie ray vauhgan sort of clean sound

I'd swap the pickups. I'm sure someone out here could suggest the ones to get.

Firstly, you will need a Fender tube amp for that kinda sound. And a tube preamp, but not necesarily. Try to mess around with stuff. Bout the pickups... A great choce woulda been the fender 59 reissue(i think that what theyre called, but not sure), but you need a humbucker in the bridge. You could coil split it.
