Hi all,

I have been reading about brass pins. It has been suggested that they will improve sustain and sound brightness. Since they are pretty cheap if that is the case I may as well pick up some.

Does anyone have any experience using brass pins?

I have doubts myself.

Cheers,

Max

If they are all the manufacturers say they are why don't guitar makers use them? I don't buy that whole increase the mass of the bridge thing. If your not happy with your guitars sound I suppose it wouldn't hurt try them, as you say they don't cost much. That again makes me wonder why guitar manufacturers don't use them if they're all that great.

Any change in the mass of the bridge will make a difference in tone.

Will it be a change for the better? Only if the end result is the one you desire.

Generally adding mass makes the vibration less, not a good thing usually.

If the brass doesn't change the total mass, then the difference will be minimal at best.

Interesting,

I had a similar opinion to Tim. I had serious doubts. Just thought I would ask to see if anyone had any experiences with them.

Thanks for the replies.

Cheers,

Max
