Hey, reading some of the other posts i heard something aboput soling with chords how does this work?
any example songs?
Probably talking about Chord Melody playing. This is a style where you generally combine strumming chords with a single note melody. So you have to choose chords with the melody note on top.
Here is a lesson with a song tabbed out in Chord Melody to give you an idea.
If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis
Here is a simple chord melody of Greensleeves. I do not have time to finish the tab tonight, I will finish it later this week.

Or they could be talking about using "chord tones" as the basis for soloing. Personally I find this much more intuitive than playing scales.
Example from forum member Kirk Lorange (aka "planetalk"):

"Everybody got to elevate from the norm."
Here is the complete Greensleeves tab, I am also going to place this in the Easy Song Database.

Wes, knows everything  lol thanks wes
Neil Young typically bases his leads around chord notes. you can hear the melody of the song in his licks.
he's famous for the one string lick too.
Ive learned a little from his style.
take an open C chord and then play the scale without removing all the fingers.
play it one finger at a time.
from there, it isnt far to find a melody.
then kick in distortion and..... :D
thats awesome, i tried it with Am too that sounds wicked
