Hey guys, I 'm going to my first jam session with one of my dad's good friends in a few days. We're both gonna have electric guitars, so it should be fun.

The only problem is that he plays mostly jazz, a genre I haven't ever really played. I like the way jazz sounds, and I always wanted to give it a whirl, so I decided that this would be a good opprotunity to try it, but I still want to know some basic stuff.

Does anyone here know some songs I can learn to play or some overall tips about how to play jazz? I have a few days, and I don't have anything going on, so there's plenty of hours for me to practice. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Do you need to play Jazz?? Im thinking putting a jazz player in the mix with a player that plays blues, or heavy rook would be pretty cool thing. Might get some pretty cool stuff out of it that will suprise bolth of you.
