Thanks again,
I am trying to convince my wife that it is customary to give a gift for Guitarversaries just like anniversaries.
What would be the appropriate gifts based on number of years?

1 - "insert name of favorite guitar here" :D .

I think that would be selling yourself short for the amount of time put in, but you should set your aims low here. Don't want be greedy.

Congrats

So lets see, paper anniversary. That means you have to buy yourself a guitar that requires certification so you get a piece of significant "paper" with it

Yep, he'll get two certified pieces of paper then. One from the appraiser, and one from the judge.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"

Congratulations on your first year of playing Missileman. :D

I like the Guitarversary idea. 8)

I think wedding anniversaries start with something cheap like paper, and take 50 years to work up to the really heavy duty goodies.

So one year is probably a pick.

After 50 years you probably get some nice gear, a stadium booked for you, and your choice of backing musicians. Of course, when you finally totter onto the stage you probably can't remember why you're there but, hey, it's something to look forward too. :P

BTW - why have you suddenly become a guest? Where's your avatar and details? You haven't suddenly left have you? Or has there been a glitch in the database?

Cheers, Chris

Congrats, Missileman.

I joined when I started playing and this is the only forum I go to for guitar information. I wasn't aware others existed.
