When i fret Low E, i'll often hear it vibrating against another fret - is this normal?
I checked to make sure it was in tune and yet still does it.
Is there a problem?
nope. it is a big string and when vibrating to moves quite a bit.
I think it adds to the natural sound of the guitar.
it will really bang when you strum or hit it harder.

that puts my mind at ease a bit more, as when i was playing the 5th fret (7th fret for A) and the 2nd fret (5th fret for A) it was vibrating, and i thought I wasnt clamping down enough..
all i need to do now is press a little harder on the A string with the pinky.
I get a nice clank on my Breedlove acoustic's low E when I strum hard. But some people really hate any type of fret buzz or noise and will raise their action to avoid it. I don't like it on my bass, though my instructor insists it's a good thing - he says it shows I'm digging in. :)

I wont mind it as long as it sounds ok when i play on thursday lol
If your brige is adjustable , you could try raising just the action slightly on the bass string side . It might not take much at all .
If I claim to be a wise man , it surely means that I don't know .
