Hi,
Can anyone tell me what kind of guitar this is? You can't see that headstock in this picture but its very weird looking and doesn't have any tell-tale insignia.etc. Don't know if that helps!

Thanks! Sorry for the long link.

Wow, thanks guys. Right on the money indeed! Are these good sounding guitars? I don't know much about them but I saw a guy in this band Grizzly Bear using one, and it sounded great! Not that expensive, it seems, either. Its seems like there'd be lots of maintainance.
Is that a tube amp in that case? :?:

You will appreciate this article about Danelectro guitars.

I own a Danelectro, it is about a foot away from me as I write this. I think it has great tone. The only thing I don't like about it is that you cannot adjust the intonation whatsoever, but it is pretty close to begin with.
One of the coolest things about Danos is when you switch to the center position between pickups you get a nice volume boost. Guitar players used to switch to middle position for solos. Dano is the only guitar I know that does this.

Interesting! So are they wired in series instead of the more typical parallel?

I don't know how it's wired, but it really does get a nice volume boost in the middle position.
I own a 56-U2 as shown here

Here is a video of a Danelectro, you will hear the volume boost when the player switches to middle position at the end.

Dano's really are good sounding guitars. :D

The new Dano '63 reissue is pretty similar in design by the way. (Slightly different pickguard.)
