hi all

hopefully people with lots of guitar knowledge will be able to help me with this.
I'm hoping to find a 2-in-1 guitar, one that is loud enough unplugged to be played in a living room enviroment, but can double as an electric when plugged in
I'd also prefer a more comfortable body than a standard acoustic and, crucially, available in a left handed model.
So far all I've come up with is the Delta 6 from http://www.eastwoodguitars.com , but I dont have any experience of resonator type guitars so I'm not to sure about that.

as always comments welcome and appreciated

it appears you are thinking electric.

a solid body electric will not have any volume unless it is amplified.

a semi or hollow body electric can have enough volume for personal volumes unplugge.
and plugged in you can sound like Brian Seltzer.
so go look at Gretch guitars.

the old jazz boxes from the 40s are still good buys. however they are not electric.

the first thing to come to mind for me is the taylor t5, however this might be out of your price range.

Those popped into my head, too.

Also, there is a semi-hollow body Schecter that has two humbuckers and a piezo in the bridge. Has some great sounds, and I think it has a decent unplugged sound as well, not enough for a performance, but certainly enough for around the house. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-C1-SemiHollowbody-Electric-Guitar-with-Piezo-Pickup?sku=518184

There are also those Oscar Schmidts that are always SPECIALS at Musicians Friend. There's two models. I do own one BTW and I like it alot, though I play my LP more than the others.

OS SemiHollow

OS Hollowbody
These are a cheap alternative yet good quality.

It's all arbitrary I know, but having followed that link I can safely say that Eastwood make the ugliest guitars in the entire known universe

Mmmm, nice...

I have a Carvin AE-185 and it's pretty loud acoustically. Lefty also.

I saw and heard the review of the new Babicz Octane Hollowbody Electric in Guitar World and it sounded (and looked) great.
