Well, I got my first Les Paul Yesterday, after much waiting.

Here she is...

Came practically new in box, the previous owner had it for two weeks then decided to trade it in. I had the EMG's installed by the dealer, the set was installed for 100 dollars, which is a good deal considering the cost of a new set of EMG HZ pickups is 160 bucks, and thats not including labor. It's also been upgraded with grover tuners, and pointers for the knobs. It came with a set of black knobs and the copper ones on it, I liked the contrast these ones gave.

The whole thing cost less then a new Epi, at 429. Thought that was a good deal. So far I like it a lot. It plays well. I can't really comment yet on the sound because I'm playing my home amp right now, which is an Epiphone Valve Special, with no pedals. These pickups were not designed for this amp. At all... Hoping to get a real test run with it at school, through my Behringer, where the distortion levels get a little higher. Can't wait to see how these things pick up harmonics and mute.

So far so good :)

Anyone think I should change back to the black knobs?

Such a small detail, yet I cant decide.

Nice guitar. I would personally go with the black knobs, but I think it looks great either way.

Yes - go with the black knobs... it was the first thing I noticed.

I'd say leave the knobs alone.

I'm non-traditional, I'd go with some skull knobs or celtic crosses!

Beautiful guitar! I kind of like the knobs, but I think maybe they clash w/ the color scheme when I look at it a bit. I say change 2 of them.

Yup, very nice Duffmaster. I kind of like the knobs that are on it. I personally haven't seen any with black knobs. I looked at the GC website, and the picture of the Epi on there appears to have the same knobs that are on yours. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Congrats on your new axe. I bet it sounds great. RE: Knobs. I'd leave 'em. Adds a touch of something different to it.
