Hey all,

Just finished reading Dylans Chronicles Volume One. In his book he talks about a new style of playing that was taught to him by Lonnie Johnson.

Which revitalize his love for music in the eighties.

The style is based on some sort of odd numbering system.

Anyone got any clues as too what he's talking about?

There's another thread in another forum: http://p073.ezboard.com/fstefangrossmansguitarworkshopfrm2.showMessage?topicID=1291.topic

But it doesn't really expose anything about this method or style.

Just curious if anyone could add to it.

well, i'm pretty sure it's nothing all that groundbreaking, considering that dylan is not a pioneer, but rather a traditionalist, when it comes to guitar playing. from what i've read on various websites, the passage is referring to the type of movement or feel produced by even versus odd time signatures (usually 4/4 and 3/4), and the different moods produced by certain of chord changes, such as the compelling nature of 5 to 1.
i think it's mostly just dylan being poetic about a man whom he considered a giant.
