Dunno why, but this suddenly surfaced in my head:

Another bride
Another groom
Another sunny
Honeymoon.
Another season,
Another reason
For playing guitar

Another year, or maybe less
What's this I hear? Or can't you guess?
She feels neglected,
And he's suspected
Of playing guitar

She sits alone 'most ev'ry night
He doesn't come home, or even write
He says he's busy
But she says, "Is he?"
"He's playing guitar"

Well - time for bed I guess

...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

At this time I would like to tell you that NO MATTER WHAT...IT IS WITH GOD. HE IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL. HIS WAY IS IN LOVE, THROUGH WHICH WE ALL ARE. IT IS TRULY -- A LOVE SUPREME --. John Coltrane

Your bit of inspired lyric writing triggered an old memory of a song that I heard years ago.

After a bit of googling, I found the lyrics to that old-ish (early 80's) song that got a bit of radio play on Canadian small-town country radio.

Gene Watson
She's No Lady

Tonight I hold the one I love far from the one at home
I picked her up some time ago and I never feel alone
I held on tight too many years to ever set her free
And though she's not a lady she still means the world to me.

Chorus:
She's no lady but I love her, she's been known to be untrue
She's been knocked around and picked on, even dropped a time or two
She's been passed around at parties, sat on everybody's knees
This old guitar's changed hands a time or two but it still belongs to me.
It still belongs to me.

She's the one who keeps me from my wife and family half the time
She haunts me and she drives me to these honky tonk dives
I pick her up each evening as the neon starts to glow
And hold her closer to my heart than any lady's ever known

Chorus 2 times

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep

Yeah I remember Bread it still comes in a sliced loaf  I remember that hyphen-rific wonder "Baby I'm-a want you"

Chuck Norris invented Kentucky Fried Chicken's famous secret recipe, with eleven herbs and spices. But nobody ever mentions the twelfth ingredient: Fear!

Yeah I remember Bread it still comes in a sliced loaf  I remember that hyphen-rific wonder "Baby I'm-a want you"

On acoustic, I really like "Make it With You". Very pretty tune that takes a little practice, but well worth it.

Here's how I do it - this part (Emaj7 - F#m7) 2x:

A* U D U D U A*U D
---0---0---0---0-0-0---2-2-2-----------
---0---0---0---0-0-0---2-2-2-----------
---1---1---1---1-1-1---2-2-2-----------
---1-------1---1-1-----2----------2--2-
---2-------2-----------4------2h4--4---
-0-------0-----------2-2---------------

A* = descending 'harp' strum, D= down strum, U= up strum

Then to an Amaj7-G#m7-F#m7:

D U D U D U D U D U D U D U D U
---0---0---0---0-0-0-4-4---4-4---4-4-4-2---2---2-2-
---2---2---2---2-2-2-4-4---4-4---4-4-4-2---2---2-2-
---1---1---1---1-1-1-4-4---4-4---4-4-4-2---2---2-2-
---2-------2---2-2-2-4-----4-----4-4-4-2-------2---
-0-0-----0-0---------x-----------------x-------x---
---------------------4---4-----4-------2-----2-2---

Then the big payoff...

--------------------------------
---------12---------------------
-----/13----13-11---------------
------------------------2---2---
--------------------2h4---4-----
-2-2--------------------------0-

that E bass note leads back to the beginning, with the Emaj7 chord.

The second time through the whole thing you drop the riff and replace it with strums: Amaj7 - G#m7 - F#m7 - B
