power ballads.

just a quicky. any suggestions on writing power ballads. I have the inspiration but i cant seem to get the right feeling. any suggestions would be great.

Maybe try a minor key with power chords for the chorus, a la "dream on."

Maybe a little piano intro leading into power chords. Melodic solo and piano on the outro.

Oh, and sing like a chick. Or just look like one. :shock:

Well if its a minor mode, there you go :D Even then, it by no means has to be minor to be a ballad. At least not in my opinon

think its dorian... although i could solo in amin over it... hmm the possabilities.

Try Phrygian and get a nice dark minor sound like George Lynch. YOu can't go wrong with that.
