I recently bought a book of Surf quitar music which I like alot and have been getting into lately but I started learning a song the other day called Pipeline and at the beginning there is a notation for steady gliss which is over a note with two slashes over it.

What it sounds like is he's doing some kind of descending slide while tremolo picking or something like that.

Does anyone know if that's what it is? Is there a technique to getting that sound. I think the passage is palm muted also.

Hi Chris!

You hit it right on the nose. Here is a lesson on Cyberfret.

Thanks Wes, unfortunately those files won't play but just reading the description of what to do has given me some ideas I'll try when I get home.

Did I see you started a new band? I'll have to check you out next time I'm up in CT.
