Does anyone have a link to a lesson (or know for that matter) that shows the strumming patterns for Closer to the Heart?
It sounds pretty consistant, but I'm still a beginner.
Thanks,
Jason
If only powertab archive was still up.... ahh too bad. Oh, sorry I really have no advice, but just wanted to say I love the song. Just try using your ears and hands to mimic what your ears tell you.
Thanks Dudes!

RUSH, cool group, one of my favs. I never played that song but i have it on CD so what i will do is try and give it a go this weekend and see if I can figure that strum pattern out for you. It may take me longer as I'm pretty busy friday and saturday but i will try and see what i can do on Sunday.
Alex Lifeson has such a great sound and style....one of my fav's as well...he is a very under rated guitarist.
I may grow old, but I'll never grow up.
He's actually the featured guitarist in the new Guitar Player mag, check it out if you want to. guitarplayer.com
Thanks Dudes!

I LOVE Alex Lifeson. Rush is my all-time favorite band, and I love the fact that they are still putting out new, inventive music.
I'm working on Freewill right now.

Assuming you're talking about the acoustic strumming, try this relatively simple version:
Chord: A G | D G A |
Down/Up: D D UD(U) D D UD(U) | D (U)D (U)D UD DUD |
A G | D A* G* | D A* G*
D D UD(U) D D UD(U) | D (U)D (U)D UD DUD | D (U)D (U)D
(U) = muted upstroke
A: xx7650
G: xx5433
D: xx0232
A*: x0222x
G*: 320033
