Which version ya goin for? Traditional or the right one (Hendrix)? If it's the right one, then I always use this tab: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/jimi_hendrix/the_star_spangled_banner_solo_tab.htm

If it's the traditional, well, happy hunting, I'd have no idea.

If you want to do the traditional one, the easiest way is to start by tuning into Open D or Open E and monkey around with the open strings. The opening arpeggio is right there, and the rest isn't too hard to figure out. :D

Hi Roman955,

You may find it sounds high because you are in standard tuning.
Hendrix played a lot of his stuff half step down
Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

Now whether or not he played Star spangled banner this way I don't know but it might be worth a try.

Rod

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!
