The 'Things you wished you'd learned straight from the off....' thread has been interesting reading. A lot of folks who have been playing for at least a bit wish they had concentrated more effort on strumming or picking techniques.
So I thought I'd start this thread in the hopes folks would post links or tips they found handy in that regard.
Here's two that helped me; both strum related:

Simple chords, some palm muting, the Em after the PMs comes in on the off beat and the G and D chords are twice the duration of the Em.

I took drums and percussion in high school and one of the first things you learn is called a paradiddle. To hear what they sound like go here:

Just sub Down and Up for Left and Right, start slowly and you're on your way. I find it a great exercise to overcome the rigidity of DUDU strumming.
