Suggest a guitar for around $300

I'm considering buying a new guitar for around $300 but I'm not sure what's out there these days and how good they are. If there is anything available with twin coil tappable humbuckers for that price it would be a bonus. I'm in two minds about getting a guitar with a floyd style trem (I like them but they make different tunings a pain in the ass) or not so I'll take any suggestions really. It'll get used to play every thing from metal to jazz. Thanks.
