might be jsut a tad bit, Ive seen people with bigger before who got by with it.

If I send you a file, can you change it into the right format? Making an avatar is the one thing I cant do, I size it down to the right pixels, but it never works out

I think the guideline, which I read somewhere is 80x80

Mine's about as big as it can get w/o it resizing the page. It actually might be a bit too big.

EDIT: resized

Guitarin' isn't a job, so don't make it one.

If you look at mine, Nick's, Smokindogs, and twistedlefty's they are about the guideline. Anything much bigger kind of distorts the posts.

There is a good and free tool for re-sizing graphics called Irfanview. You can find it all over the net by searching on it.

Yup, and it seems to take a while to load. If you make it half as tall and half as wide, it will load 4 times faster.

I always see this pointed to, do people really not have access to basic image editing on their computers? MS Paint is quick and easy.... :|

undercat,

just give it a try, it's very good.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I don't think MS Paint lets you resize an image especially without distorting it. Irfanview lets you do all sorts of things including resizing while maintaining the aspect ratio and quality.

Honest, try it you will like it

paint is harder to use, and quality of finished product often sucks.
And Paint has the added dissadvantage of changing your file to .bmp which is not the best format for posting on the net.
irfanview is free and works just fine. personaly I use Pix Resizer which is also free

That Clapton avator you have is the same one I use. Although I don't think mine actually comes up anymore.

Edit: Got a new one up. This one expresses the feelings you all know I have.
