Is anyone out there familiar with Tradition Guitars? I was in a pawn shop this afternoon and they've started carrying them. I played a couple, and they felt and sounded pretty good. So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them? I found a website.... http://www.traditionguitars.com/ .... and the pawn shop had a better price on the two I got interested in.

This one.......

Their SP-1 series in Cherry Sunburst:
FEATURES/SPECIFICATIONS
Body - Solid Basswood w/ Flame Maple Top
Neck - Rock Maple w/ Rosewood Fingerboard
Hardware - 1 Volume, 2 Tone, 5-Way Switch. 3 Coil Tap Switches
Electronics - 3 High-Output Coil Tapped Hot Rail Humbuckers
Finish - Transparent Flame Maple
Colors - Black, Cherry Sunburst, Honey Burst, Natural, Cobalt Blue, Red, Tobacco Sunburst

And this one.......

Their MTL 600 series in Cherry Burst
FEATURES/SPECIFICATIONS
Body - Maple w/ Spruce Top
Neck - Maple Set Neck w/ Rosewood Fingerboard
Hardware - 2 Volumes, 2 Tones, Rosewood Bridge
Electronics - 2 Gold Medallion Humbuckers
Finish - Solid or Transparant Finish
Colors - Black, Tobacco Burst, Cherry Burst, Natural, Amber

What do y'all think? And has anyone ever owned one?

electra,

i played a tradition les paul copy a couple of months ago, i have never heard of tradition before, not bad, for the price , its a darn good guitar for a beginning guitarist,
it kinda reminded me of a cheaper version of a epi les paul,. but not a bad bang for the buck.

...a cheaper version of a epi les paul

What does that mean? Epis LPs span quite a price and quality range.

EB-

They are very likely Asian instruments -- which is fine, but should make them very affordable and competitive in quality to other similarly prices guitars. Is a pawn shop a good place to be dealing with such things as setups and warranty repairs? Where you buy could be as important as saving a few bucks.
