Yep, I just bought a neat little project guitar. And even though it plays REALLY nicely for the price I paid. I still have some upgrades in mind.

Mainly I am instaling SH-4 JB and SH-2 Jazz pickups in my Epiphone SG limited. My main concern comes in the area of Tuning Machine Heads. I am not sure what to buy, or what style I should buy. I was thinking Sperzel Locking Tuners. But I am also considering Grover tuners as well.

If anyone could give me some suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Often times tuners do not need to be upgraded. Even cheap tuners many times hold tune just just.

I have never used Sperzel but when I do buy tuners, they are always Grovers. I like them a lot. No complaints. 8)

If it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing.

I buy a lotta stuff from Stew-Mac, but watch the prices. I just picked up some Grover keystone tuners from my local music store. Didn't really pay attention to the price, but curiosity got me checking later. Was surprised to see that Stew-Mac's were a couple bucks more.

I've liked Grover mini locking tuners enough on one of my guitars to buy a set for my project guitar.

Are you looking to buy those pickups? I have both of those I'm going to sell. The Jazz was never installed in anything but a pick gaurd, but never even wired up(wouldn't fit the body) and the JB was installed for about 2 weeks then removed(too bright for the guitar it was in). Both in new condition.
